about

BLACK RUSHIN (ANTHILL REMIX)
In their pursuit of the darker sounds they were hearing at clubs and raves, and with better production techniques at their disposal, the Mob crafted a pitch black remix that stands up alongside the classic orlginal. The call and response of the breaks channels the spirit of Doc Scott, the 808 bass is bigger, the mix down tidier - but at its core, Black Rushin is still a tense, minimal workout; heads down rather than hands in the air. It captured the mood of the time, and when debuted by the mighty Top Buzz off dubplate in 93, the crowd went wild. The rest, as they say, is history.

ANTOLOGY (TOP BUZZ 'STONEHENGE' REMIX)
With a driving 4/4 rhythm and carefully layered breakbeats, the Buzz get things rolling with a sublime sub bass that ensures that their remix stays true to the original but comes with the unmistakable Top Buzz sound.

We dedicate this release to the memory of Jason Kaye. RIP brother. Thanks for all the songs and the sets, you were always an inspiration to our work then and now.

The Anthill Mob London, UK

If you were to walk down through the town centre of Yeovil to a house at the far end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the 90s, you would have encountered a hidden gem of the Somerset music scene: two 20 year olds cracking jokes and smashing samples - none other than the darkside jungle pioneers Kevin Hann and Adrian Hughes, also known as The Anthill Mob. ... more
